NCP_WIDE.NET Workshop
In light of the major European research and innovation policy instruments that are framing the specific objective of Horizon 2020 “Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation”, the workshop will take stock of the experiences with and first detectable results of the various programme lines of the “Widening” Package (particularly Teaming, Twinning and ERA Chairs). On this basis, the participating NCP’s will assess the achievements with a view to the specific challenges or bottlenecks identified in their countries that are linked to the innovation divide, and discuss – from the specific NCP perspective – options for possible future orientations of “Widening” measures within the specific objective or Horizon 2020 as a whole.
NCP’s – particularly Widening NCP’s – are expected to contribute actively to the debate based on their national experience, and to share current complementary national activities targeted at, e.g. structural reforms of the national R&I systems, bilateral and multilateral measures or shaping future actions within Horizon 2020.
The event is organized in cooperation with the NCP Academy and builds on its activities and results related to, i.a. the promotion of synergies between Horizon 2020 and the ESI funds as a means to support capacity-building in the R&I systems and with a view to drive the catching-up processes of less R&I intensive countries.
Target group
The workshop is targeted at NCP’s for the specific objective “Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation” (SEWP) and other NCP’s across Horizon 2020 programme lines dealing with the challenge of closing the innovation divide or widening participation in Horizon 2020, respectively.
The invitation is targeted at SEWP NCP’s and NCP coordinators through the NCP Academy.
Due to limited capacity, priority access will be granted to: 1) SEWP NCP’s, 2) other NCP’s with a balanced spread across different programme parts relevant to SEWP on a first-come-first-served basis.
